Lisa and Loggerhead Turtle's Trek
|
Book Description:
Leah of the Sea-uh was a Loggerhead Sea Turtle hatchling. She was born to swim to a Sargassum raft.
Someday, she hoped to return to that same Florida beach to bring forth future generations. Sadly, a bird snatched her and flew her to a nearby parking garage. He intended to consume her for his midnight snack.
Miraculously, Leah managed to escape by wiggling her way free from the bird’s sharp talons and then hiding behind a car tire. Her only hope of surviving was treatment at the local sea turtle rehab center.
The manager’s daughter, fifth-grader Lisa, found her and came to her rescue. An unbreakable bond formed between Lisa and this two-inch tall hatchling.
This illustrated book chronicles their extraordinary parallel adventures.

Book Description:
On the day the clutch of 120 tiny Loggerhead Sea Turtles were born, these tiny hatchlings had to survive predators of land, air, and sea.
Little G hoped that she and her sisters would manage to survive and thrive.
How will Little G endure almost getting captured by a Ghost Crab, the two- to three-day swimming frenzy, facing the grief of losing the sister who actually saved her life, and find her way to a floating Sargassum raft?
Thanks to Big G, her Guardian Sea Turtle, she might actually get that chance to someday be a future sea turtle grandmama.

Squirrel Rejects His Bushy Tail
A Book about Self-Esteem and |
Squirrel Rejects His Bushy Tail
|
Book Description:
Squirrel loved to brag more than just about anything else in the world. Sadly, all that bragging was a cover-up for hiding his big secret.
What was his secret? Squirrel truly thought his tail was ugly and useless. When confronted by a hungry hawk, will Squirrel learn his lesson that all parts of his body are essential and important before it is too late?
This story of Squirrel attempting to reject his bushy tail was inspired by hearing a Native American tale about Coyote plus the author’s past weight loss efforts. See if it reminds you of any time when you might have rejected or put down any part of your body or life.

Book Description:
This trilogy of tales was written in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black History Month. After reading multiple biographies of his great life, the author was inspired to write a story that demonstrates that the sky would not fall if people of all races co-mingled.
Tale #1: Parable of Strange Fox: A ‘stranger-danger’ fox arrives at a peaceful forest. He manages to convince President Bear to confine all rabbits to Forest Corner or else the sky would come crashing down upon their heads.
Tale #2: Parable of Martin Rabbit and Grandmother Frog: Years later, young Martin Rabbit meets with his mentor, Grandmother Frog. Will she convince him to bravely take a stand?
Tale #3: Parable of What Martin Rabbit Taught President Bear: When facing starvation, Martin Rabbit leads the rabbits to the fallen tree to meet with President Bear the 3rd. Will Martin be able to convince one and all that a bad law is a law needing to be changed?
Tune in to read this trilogy of three parables to find the answer.
